the future...

As we begin a new Millennium we find ourselves in times that are both exciting and confusing. The world in which we live is in the midst of profound and often rapid changes, in societies, ideologies, technology, ecological issues and many other areas. Within the church new ideas and theologies co-exist - not always peacefully - alongside age-old certainties. In the last 25 years religious life has undergone its own profound and far-reaching revolution into a way of life that could never have been imagined before Vatican II.

Whatevere else we do as religious, we can never sit back, satisfied that we have 'got it right'. We need to search constantly for new, creative, Spirit-filled ways to live our charism. We need to dream and to ask questions; to challenge ourselves and each other; to take risks and support each other in this knowing that we may never, ever 'get it right'.

We believe that the spirit calls us to take responsibility for co-creating our future. The 'hows' and 'whats' are largely unknown and uncertain - all that is known is that it won't be easy. Who dares say YES...!
