A Spirituality rooted in the gospels

Our spirituality is rooted in the attitudes and values of Jesus expressed through the gospel stories of the New Testament. We call this "knowing the heart of Jesus."

Reflection to discover more

We believe that we learn about the Heart of God from reflection on human experience, because we believe that God is there, at the heart of the world in human lives.

The needs of the world call us.

The love of the heart of Jesus spurs us on to respond to the needs of today's world wherever we are: "the thirst for God, hunger for justice, desire for equality, longing for meaning, the ache to belong." (Chapter 2000)

In relationships we live his love.

Our spirituality of the Heart finds expression in all our relationships lived in love, - with God, with each other and all whom we meet. We live the compassion of Jesus and his search for justice.

As educators we work for change.

Our call to share in God's creative work is expressed in a variety of ways. Whatever our work we seek to promote the growth and development of people and situations.

Prayer is fundamental.

To understand and become one with the Heart of Jesus necessitates times of prolonged prayer, on our own but also with others in community. Thus we help each other to recognise the presence and action of God in our lives and in the world.
